View Full Version : Walkthrough Emperor Fyst in the Deathfist Citadel

Hi all, have been 3 times now in this zone and enjoyed it thoroughly and have had great use of a good guide. However, the zone is complicated and a bit buggy so its easy to screw up which locks you out of the final combat. Also, I haven't found a walkthrough with all names of the named mobs so last time we where there I took some notes and added these to a good walkthrough. So if you haven't been here before and need/want a guide this might be helpfull.

I have not made this guide, I found it useful and added the names of the mobs to make for a better checklist plus some more comments earned the hard way.

Preparations:

Tell everyone to not Yell in order to break an encounter. This can block the progression of the quest and lock you out from the encounter in the arena (We had a yell while fighting a prince and his dogs, one dog disappeared and we never got the pretorian guards to spawn and thus never got into the arena). The zone is a very complicated one with a lot of events triggered by the right parts in the right order.

The zone gets a bit crazy at times cause of all the mobs, add 12 players and it gets like taking a kindergarten to a shopping center in rush hour. I suggest setting graphical settings to very high performance AND make sure particle effects are set to maximum of 1 per character or even zero.

Next: Prepare for fun cause this is a very fun zone with a good story

If you need a guide, give me a tell and I will mentor down and guide you around, but this written guide is probably enough. So here goes:

The shortest route:

Enter through the sewers, there is a rope to climb into court yard (CY), tell everyone not to go up just yet.

Clear all the named in the Sewers (if the trash is gray, leave it alone).
- Should be the Flesh Feeder, Slavedriver Krondek, and the Jailor Norx. This then triggers Painmaster Pyrek in the back room behind the Jailor. Once these 4 are dead you can use the rope to get into the CY. (good map of this level is: http://eq2.gamepressure.com/maps.asp?ID=67)

Take the rope to the CY area and clear the named.
- Swineherder Gnaw, Oracle Sharx, Warden Burthog and Butcher Kuhrzek. Once the named are dead kill Deathfist Citizens until the guards pop (you don't need to kill the guards).

Head up to the castle walls (middle east tower) and clear the named you can reach by running around the outer ramparts (Lookout Hergoth, Siegemaster Vregg, Siegemaster Dregg, Lookout Skurg, Leutenant Brokk, Leutenant Gondrax)
.
- If your doing SSoY as well, once all named are dead drop down into the Infiltrators room through a opening in the floor of the tower in the SW corner.

Now cross the bridge from rampage into to the center area (where fake Fyst is).
- Clear around the center, then clear the center. Once all dead, approach Fyst, start his event and let him run away.

Enter the door Fyst opens when fleeing.
- Head down this door for the Prophet of Zek room. Kill a ton of mobs (including General Zorg) but making sure Prophet is first to prevent respawns. This area is very laggy, expect a ton of mobs on you at once.

Proceed down the hall, rooms to left trigger Prince Gluntok and his two hounds Krushjaw and Riggore. You should also trigger Blademaster Vith and Quartermaster Kryll before you enter the harem wich is to the right from the korridor.

Now enter the harem where you will meet an aggro servant


Use the secret door (through curtain) in the Harem room.
- In here is the final Prince Valtoris, kill him and his henchmen. This unlocks the elevator.


**Note: If doing SSoY before you begin the elevator part you can proceed past the Harem room to return to the sewers by running down the stairs which are to the left at the end of the hallway and talk to 2 of the 3 SSoY NPCs (found near the Jailor from the Sewer part). Careful, they poof within 20 seconds of the first person to progress the quest text so coordinate your hails

Elevator time!
- First go up, one level. Kill the named tiger (Warpaw) on the balcony (behind a curtain, careful though, the balcony has bad hand railings so you easily drop into the CY). Then return to elevator, go up again. Kill the set of chests (mimics). Now walk out onto the small bridge from this room, kill the 2 x trained falcons and the Captain Bonesplitter who stands on a tower across from the bridge (Captain can be range pulled over to you using a jump/cast trick, or a ranger with magic arrow).

Now jump down into the Alchemist room.
- Clear this room, should be some books, some casters and 2 named (named book and named mob missed their names). Once cleared, if doing SSoY your 3rd NPC is here.

You next need to get back to CY using the elevator in this room

**Note: If doing SSoY you must return to the Infiltrator now.

Now you need to kill the Blacksmith Gultok in the CY, he is inside a building that should now be open.

back into the keep, and get down the stairs. Make sure you kill 4 or 5 Praetorian guards and some final mobs in front of the arena doors. This should open the arena doors. At this point all your named should be dead and you can proceed to the Arena. If the doors are not clickable, you skipped a named somewhere.

Final Event.
- Your ENTIRE raid party needs to be in the arena to start the event. If 1 person is still outside those doors it won't start. Even is 5 waves. Wave 1, 4 single mobs. Wave 2, 4 single mobs (single as in not linked, but group^^ mobs), Wave 3, some ugly named, Wave 4, some really ugly alien, Wave 5, Emp Fyst.

be sure to be power efficient once the end-battle in the arena starts as there is a series of mobs before Fyst and you do need alot of power for Fyst. The story is that you are lured into the arena and the orcs wanna watch as you die. When you manage the waves of mobs, Fyst gets annoyed and comes down to finnish the job.
