Star Trek Online - Any TDV'ers joining this game?

Hi all,

I have been checking out STO in the last few weeks and it looks pretty solid, is anyone thinking of having a go at this game or does anyone have access to beta to shed some light on if its any good or not.

If I had the time I would give it a spin, as it looks pretty good. Maybe come spring break I'll give it a try. I know Anao plans on playing it. Guess we'll see next month when it comes out.

I just don't see this game being good. I hope I'm wrong being a huge star trek fan, but given all of the issues it has gone through while in development, I'm not hopeful.

Yeah I've been playing in Beta the past couple of games. It looks good but not sure about game play, doesn't feel like being in a mmo but maybe because it's really really confusing. I guess it's different than most. I guess the way the skills and stuff work is more like SWG used to be, with all the trees and stuff. But you don't have to just worry about your own you have your ship and 4 bridge officers to skill up at the same time. I'm kind of enjoying it though!

i agree but i do think the pvp could be really fun in it tho

Not a Star Trek fan at all so will give this a miss. Next MMO I play will be SWTOR. In the mean time i'll continue to play WOW casually. Ive got Bayonetta on Xbox to play, Mass Effect 2 is out in a few weeks which I am REALLY looking forward to and March will see the release of the new Final Fantasy game, another series im a huge fan of, so I should be ok for the next few months :)

Aye I'm not a Trek fan but it has to be said the new film made the Star Wars prequels even worse....by being so good
